Anyone reading my comments might ask if I have any insights about the whole U.S. medical problem. Yes. I do. This is a complex issue as well. So, just a brief summary here.
Fiddling with Medicare and Medicaid is a waste of time. The real issue is the COST of providing medical care. So, here is the key provision of my solution concept:
1. Start teaching basic and intermediate healthcare in the schools starting from 1st grade. By the time a student graduates from high school, every citizen should have training about equivalent to current EMTs.
2. Provide a FREE ACCESS government moderated medical website that provides comprehensive basic health information that a trained student can understand.
3. Equip every household with basic telemedicine equipment that can track their personal medical needs. This would start with just: weight scale; blood pressure cuff, temperature probe, and short query menu for self reporting.
The objective of this is to relieve the ridiculous burden of trivial cases that primary physicians have to attend to.
