There is a serious problem with the “Fair tax”. The word “fair” is a political word being used to emotionally cover up the many faults in the “Fair tax” concept. Let me put it this way. The whole OWS effort includes an attempt to return the word “fair” to its original meaning so that it doesn’t only mean “more wealth” for the 1%. The word “fair” has become like “double speak” in George Orwell’s novel 1984 where “all men are equal – EXCEPT, some men are more equal than others.” Any uniform tax on sales is regressive against the poor.
